Craving for some Vegetarian burger? Here’s my take, Indian style.
4 – Burger buns of any kind
Oil for frying
FOR PATTIES –
4 – Potatoes, peeled, boiled and coarsely mashed
1/4 cup – Peas, boiled and coarsely mashed (you can also add corn, carrot)
1/2 tsp – Garam masala powder
1 tsp – Cumin powder
1/4 tsp – Turmeric
1/2 tsp – Red chilli powder
1 tsp – Coriander powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala powder
Salt to taste
1 cup – Bread crumbs, (keep aside 1/2 cup for coating)
1 – Onion, thinly sliced
1 – Large Tomato, 4 thick slices
1/3 cup – Mayonnaise
1 tbsp – Tomato ketchup
In a large bowl, combine all the “patties” ingredients and divide into 4 equal portions and make patties. Coat them well with the bread crumbs, set aside and keep in the fridge for an hour or two.
Heat oil on medium heat and fry the patties until crispy and golden brown and place on an absorbent kitchen paper towel.
Combine the “sauce” ingredients. Cut and toast the inside of the buns.
Now place the patty in the bun with the toppings, sauce and serve with fries!
